OBITUARY

Meyocha Mignon Hill was born on January 3, 1985, in Hammond, Louisiana, to the late Johny Martin, Jr. and

Keronica “Katie” Hill. She was baptized at Greater Love Church of God and Christ at an early age under the

leadership of Pastor Hebert Burton. She attended Hammond Area Public Schools in the Tangipahoa Parish School

System. Meyocha prided herself on displaying excellent customer service as she served as a courteous cashier at

several restaurants in the fast-food industry before becoming a Certified Manager with McDonald’s.

Her greatest joy was spending quality time with her children, family, and friends. She especially treasured family

and friend gatherings where she could have meaningful conversations, be silly, share laughter with her siblings,

sing, and create precious memories with those closest to her. Her love for family was evident in her generous

nature and her strong support of family and friends. After a long day's work, you might find Meyocha taking a

break in the car, laughing and scrolling through social media, or napping.

She was a loving and caring woman whose presence brought warmth, kindness, and joy to the lives of those

around her. She was a hardworking woman who faced life with strength, determination, and a commitment to the

people she loved. She will be remembered for her kindheartedness, strong work ethic, and her knack for making

others feel valued and cared for when they needed it most.

She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love for her three children: Gerard Cordell Lloyd, Jr., Joshua Hill, and

Jacob Hill; four maternal siblings: Angela James (Steven Dorsey), New Orleans, LA, Alex “Trell” Hill (Latoya),

Loranger, LA, Tuvoris “Shotime” Hill (Keaira Alexander), Hammond, LA, Shalanda “Londay” Hill (Lashermel

“Rody” Reed, Sr.), Hammond, LA; three paternal siblings: Shalandra Martin and Lajohn Martin of Dallas, TX

Marisa Prophet of Detroit, Michigan; A surrogate grandmother, Louise “Momo” Tyler and surrogate siblings;

nineteen nieces and nephews: Christopher Flood, Kenyirie Hill, Alexis Hill, De’arrius Pitts. Alex Hill, Jr., Ayden

Hill, Ashanti Ussin, Tuvoria Hill, Keyara Owen, Nygeria Hill, Jaylon Fornett, Tamora Hill, London Hill, Kaitlyn

Hill, Kalani Hill, Darrell Vaughn, Darrius Vaughn, Lashermel “RJ” Reed, Jr., Lea Reed, and a host of great-nieces

and nephews, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Johny Martin, Jr. and Keronica “Katie” Hill; maternal grandparents

Essie Lee James and Herbert Pace; her maternal great-grandmother, Annie Bell Jacobs James Paige. She was also

preceded in death by a surrogate uncle, John Wilkinson: her paternal grandfather Johnnie Martin Sr., paternal

grandmother, Gussie Martin and Uncle Leroy.
