Mary Easley Brooks

(Alpha 12/27/1945/ Omega 12/12/2025)

With heartfelt joy and reverence, we celebrate the life of Mary Lee Easley Brooks, born on December 27, 1945, in Crystal Springs, MS, to Morris Easley Sr and Beulah Lee Easley. As the eldest of six children and the only daughter, she embodied love and family. Embracing her faith at an early age, she joined Mt. Wade MB Baptist congregation, laying the foundation for her spiritual journey. 

Her educational pursuits took her to Rosemary school, Mixon Jr High, and Utica Jr College, where she grew and flourished. Her path then led her to Chicago, Illinois, where she met her beloved husband, Thomas “Pete” Brooks. In May 1965, they exchanged vows, and their union was blessed with two precious children, Kenneth and Kristina. Though they sorrowfully lost a stillborn daughter, Karen Noreen, they remained steadfast. As a devoted stay-at-home mother, Mary nurtured her family with tender care. Later, she worked at Cub Foods, balancing her roles with love and dedication. In 2010, she returned to her native Jackson, MS, area, spreading love and kindness wherever she went. During her health challenges, she moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to be closer to her youngest brother Joseph (Charlene). 

Mary's culinary skills were renowned, and she delighted in watching classic westerns, Andy Griffith, and football games. Psalm 23 held a special place in her heart. 

With unwavering faith and a renewed confession, she transitioned to eternal life on December 12, 2025, at Woodleigh Nursing Facility in Baton Rouge, LA. Mary will be deeply missed, but her legacy lives on. 

She leaves behind cherished memories for her son Kenneth Brooks, daughter Kristina A. Brooks, grandchildren Chantal Brooks, Noah Hebert, Maricruz Brooks, Carina Brooks, and Christopher McIntosh, brothers David Easley and Joseph (Charlene) Easley, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Thomas, daughter Karen, and brothers Morris Easley, Jr., Willie James (Faye) Easley, and Job (Rene) Easley. 

In lieu of flowers and gifts, we ask for you to donate to the American Cancer Society or Charity of your choice. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
