Baton Rouge

Charlie William Franklin, beloved family member, cherished friend, and a shining light in our lives, has passed away at the age of 42. Born on December 22, 1980, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Charlie's journey was one filled with compassion, love, and an unwavering commitment to making the world a better place.

Throughout their life, Charlie touched the hearts of everyone they encountered. Their warm smile and kind eyes reflected the genuine care they had for others. Always putting people first, Charlie served as a shoulder to lean on during times of joy and sorrow. They possessed an uncanny ability to provide comfort and solace to those in need.

Charlie's passion for community outreach led them to devote countless hours to local organizations. Whether lending a helping hand at the local shelter or advocating for equal rights in their community, Charlie's dedication knew no bounds. They possessed an innate sense of empathy that allowed them to understand the struggles of others and provide unwavering support.

In addition to their philanthropic endeavors, Charlie was a talented artist who used their creativity as a means of self-expression. Their paintings captured the beauty of nature with vibrant colors and exquisite brushstrokes. Each piece told a unique story and reflected Charlie's profound connection to the world around them.

Friends and loved ones are invited to pay their respects at the Visitation service, which will be held on October 7th, 2023 at Greater First Baptist Church of Baker located at 4669 Groom Rd in Baker, Louisiana. The Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM and last until noon.

Following the Visitation service, a Celebration of Life ceremony will take place from noon until 1:30 PM at Greater Fiirst Baptist Church of Baker. This event will be an opportunity for us all to come together as one big family and honor the beautiful life that Charlie lived.

We will gather once more at Rosehill Cemetery in Clinton, Louisiana, for the Interment ceremony. The ceremony will commence at 2:30 PM and provide a time for us to reflect on the lasting impact Charlie had on all our lives.

Charlie's memory will continue to live on in the hearts of their loved ones. They are survived by their parents, siblings, and a wide circle of friends who will forever cherish their time spent together. May we find solace in the memories we shared and carry forward Charlie's legacy of compassion and kindness.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity close to Charlie's heart - the Baton Rouge Homeless Shelter. Your support will ensure that Charlie's work continues to make a positive difference in the lives of those less fortunate.

Though our hearts ache with sadness at this great loss, let us also celebrate the incredible life that Charlie William Franklin lived. In their short time with us, they taught us about unconditional love, unwavering kindness, and the power of empathy. Let us honor their memory by emulating these qualities in our own lives.

As we say goodbye to our dear Charlie, let us remember them as an extraordinary soul who left an indelible mark on this world. Their legacy will forever inspire us to be better versions of ourselves—to seek understanding, spread love, and make every moment count. Though they may be physically absent from our lives, their spirit will forever guide and illuminate our path.

Rest in peace, dear Charlie William Franklin. You will be dearly missed but never forgotten. May your soul find eternal tranquility as you embark on your next journey.

And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them. Revelation 14:13 KJV
